A Humanitarian Residence Permit allows asylum seekers in Denmark to apply for temporary residency due to exceptional humanitarian circumstances. This permit is granted only in very special cases, such as when an applicant suffers from a serious illness requiring treatment that is unavailable in their home country or faces a significant deterioration of a serious disability upon return.
A humanitarian residence permit does not grant asylum status but provides temporary protection in Denmark based on the applicant’s specific humanitarian situation.

To qualify for a Humanitarian Residence Permit, you must:
Humanitarian residence permits are granted in exceptional cases only, as determined by the Ministry of Immigration and Integration. The decision is final and cannot be appealed.
The Ministry of Immigration and Integration conducts an individual assessment of each application. Factors considered include:

Extending a Humanitarian Residence Permit
